The Artist Behind the Print: Why Who You Work With Still Matters
These days, there are more ways than ever to get your hands on artwork. AI generators, massive print libraries, pre-made packs with thousands of designs. . speed and volume are no longer the problem.
But the thing is, an amazing print isn’t just about filling a space. It’s about creating something that supports the identity of your brand, tells a story, and feels right on the product. And that doesn’t come from a quick download. That comes from an artist who actually understands what you're trying to build.
Real artwork carries real intention
When a print is hand-painted, you can feel it. There's a looseness, a texture, a sense that it wasn't churned out by a machine. It has edges, quirks, and just, something, that adds depth to the final product. There’s also the huge bonus of knowing that artwork is 100% yours, not a version of 1000s of others floating around the web.
It also means it wasn’t made for everyone. It was created with a purpose—whether that’s for a spring collection, a bedding refresh, or a spring maxi dress with movement and story.
A collaborative process creates better results
Designing a collection isn’t just about plugging in patterns and hoping they work. There’s scale to consider, color, composition, the type of fabric, the silhouette, how it sits next to the rest of the range… And when you’re working with a real designer, you get to shape those things together.
That collaboration can lead to unexpected ideas, subtle tweaks, and ultimately something that feels custom and totally aligned with your brand. Plus, customers love a look inside the brand, seeing how things come together makes them feels much more connected with it.
A quick note about me
Before I started my studio, I worked in-house as a designer in the fashion industry. I know how fast-paced things can be and how hard it is to find artwork that’s both beautiful and right for the brand.
That’s why I don’t just hand over a design and call it done. I paint everything by hand and work closely with my clients to make sure it feels intentional, cohesive, and distinct. Whether that’s a one-off purchase or something more ongoing, I always want the work to reflect your story, not just mine.
Not ready for full custom? That’s where my pattern library comes in
I get that sometimes timelines are tight and you just need something that works now. That’s exactly why I created my pattern library—it’s a boutique collection of hand-painted designs that you can license instantly, with the added bonus of being easy to tweak if you need it to feel more you.
It’s often where the conversation starts—and it’s been the beginning of a lot of great collaborations. Because when you know where your art is coming from, it’s easier to stand behind it.
